Is it preferable to postpone the engagement until after completing university studies, or should the engagement take place now, knowing that postponing marriage might lead to committing haram?

Young men and women are advised to initiate marriage if possible, especially if either fears falling into the forbidden. The young man should convince his parents of the merits of marriage and that it is a means of protection from temptations. If the parents refuse, and the young man fears falling into the unlawful, he must marry even without their permission, while striving to appease them. If he is unable to marry, the young woman should be patient, seek help through fasting, avoid temptations, or look for another husband. It should be noted that the legitimate engagement does not permit seclusion (khalwa) or physical contact until the legal marriage contract is concluded.
