Is the use of a washing machine for clothes permissible by Islamic law?

There is no objection to using a washing machine to wash clothes, as the basic principle for using machines is permissibility. However, one must be careful regarding purification by purifying the ritually impure garment before placing it in the machine, or by purifying the clothes with pure water after they have finished washing.
