The wife must not permit anyone to enter her husband's house except with his permission. The husband, in turn, should not prevent his wife's relatives from visiting her unless it causes embarrassment.

If the wife asks her husband not to stay overnight at home to make more room for her family, there is no harm in this request, provided it does not cause him hardship. However, if it causes him hardship or embarrassment, then she should not ask for it, nor should she host any of her family whose stay would cause her husband difficulty. It is not permissible for a guest to cause the host embarrassment. "Hospitality is for three days, and its due is a day and a night. It is not lawful for a Muslim man to stay with his brother until he puts him in a sinful situation."

If the husband can accommodate his guests and in-laws without embarrassment, then this is considered noble conduct. However, if he dislikes it or finds it difficult, the wife must not burden him with what he cannot bear.
