Among the rights of the student upon his teacher are: sincerity of intention in teaching, loving good for him as he loves it for himself, attending to his interests and treating him as the dearest of children, being patient with his harshness, not showing favoritism among students except for a justification that encourages others, striving for their benefit and uniting their hearts, inquiring about the absent among them and asking after him, being humble towards him, and not withholding references and research from him.
