Why are the two verses: ﴿He frowned and turned away﴾ and ﴿O Prophet, why do you prohibit what Allah has made lawful for you?﴾ not used as an argument against atheists to prove that the Qur’an is not a fabrication of the Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, for if it were, he would not have criticized himself therein?

Scholars cite the verses in which Allah admonished His Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, as proof that the Qur'an is truth, and that it is not fabricated but rather a revelation from Allah. For if the Qur'an had been from the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, he would have concealed such verses that contain severe admonishment for him.

Scholars have expounded upon everything in the Qur'an and have left nothing without clarification, even the disconnected letters about which some hesitate, saying: "Allah knows best their intended meaning." This does not prevent translation and explanation in different languages.
