What is the ruling on looking at pictures of scantily clad women and then masturbating to avoid committing adultery and sodomy?

Viewing nude images is forbidden and leads to engaging in the forbidden act of masturbation, which may, in turn, lead to major sins like fornication and sodomy. One must repent to Allah and stay away from everything that incites lust. The best aids in this regard are the fear of Allah and marriage, and for those unable to marry, fasting is recommended.
