If the father is poor or deceased, the wealthy mother is obligated to provide for her needy children. The daughter's maintenance continues to be her responsibility until she marries. However, if she does not provide for her sufficiently, then the daughter may take from her mother's money without her permission what is customarily sufficient for her in terms of food, drink, clothing, and education. This is for necessities, not for luxuries.
