Why does the Quran accept some teachings of the Bible while rejecting others, despite Muhammad's belief in Christ and the earlier prophets? And why are there different sects in Islam if the Quran is free from error? And why does the Quran permit polygyny while the Bible forbids it?

1. The frequent mention of Jesus (peace be upon him) in the Quran is due to him being one of the Prophets of strong will, the obligation of believing in him, the proximity of the People of the Book in terms of evangelism, and the importance of affirming Tawhid (monotheism), concerning which they differed. The Quran clarified the reality of Jesus as a prophet and a created human being, and his miracles as signs of his truthfulness, not of his divinity.

2. The multiplicity of sects and differences does not indicate the distortion of the Quran, but rather a consequence of following whims and abandoning adherence to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet. The Quran calls for unity and warns against disunity.

3. Polygamy was lawful in the laws of previous prophets, and it is not exclusive to the law of Muhammad (peace be upon him). Christians prohibited it either because it was part of Allah's law before the advent of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), or they innovated it to make things stricter for themselves.
