Is it obligatory for a Muslim woman to reconcile with her Christian friend who divulged her secret, knowing that this is not the first time she has done so?

Islamic law encourages kindness to all people. While a Muslim is not obligated to reconcile with a non-Muslim, it is an act of kindness to forgive them and treat them with courtesy, without taking them as a friend. This is based on the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) saying: "Do not associate except with a believer, and let none eat your food except the pious," and his saying: "A man is upon the religion of his intimate friend, so let one of you look at whom he befriends." This is because a person is influenced by their companion, and one should choose a companion who possesses good character and religious devotion.
