Is taking out a housing loan from an Islamic bank permissible or forbidden?
There is no harm in dealing with the bank if it is a Murabaha transaction, where the bank purchases the house and sells it to the client who ordered the purchase, with a mutually agreed-upon profit. The same applies if it is a Qard Hasan (interest-free loan) where the bank gives the client the price of the house and recovers it from him without any increase. Any other transactions must be clarified before a ruling can be made on them.
