Is a man's voice a temptation (fitna)?

A man's voice is not considered 'awrah (private/nakedness). Women have heard men's voices since ancient times. If 'fitnah' (temptation/strife) is intended to mean the possibility of some women or deviants being tempted by it, then this is possible. For this reason, some scholars disliked a woman hearing a man's voice, fearing 'fitnah', in accordance with their prohibition of a woman looking at a man. However, the origin is that a man's voice is not forbidden to hear, as long as it is not melodious in a way that leads to 'fitnah' or the abandonment of religious or worldly duties.
