The question

What is the ruling on the Hajj of one who performed Tawaf Al-Ifadah while unsure of her purity due to discharge, and is she still in a state of ihram? And what is the ruling on Tawaf Al-Umrah if wudu was broken during it and not redone? And is marriage valid in this case?

The answer

Scholars have clarified that whoever's ablution is nullified during the circumambulation (tawaf) of 'Umrah and completes their tawaf in that state, their tawaf is invalid. Consequently, they remain in the state of ihram for 'Umrah, and must refrain from the prohibitions of ihram, then go to Mecca to perform tawaf, sa'i, and taqsir (shortening the hair). As for entering ihram for Hajj, it is not valid for someone who is already in ihram for 'Umrah after having started its tawaf. Similarly, a female in ihram is not permitted to contract marriage, because a marriage contract made with a woman in ihram is invalid. However, according to the view of those who say that purification is obligatory and can be compensated for by an offering (dam), it is sufficient to slaughter an animal for the tawaf that was performed without purity.
