Is the third verse of Surat Al-Ma’idah (Forbidden to you are carrion, and blood...) considered to abrogate the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and his noble Companions regarding dealing with the food of the People of the Book?

Abrogation (naskh) is only resorted to when there is a conflict between religious evidences and it is not possible to reconcile them. There is no contradiction between the verse mentioned by the questioner and the hadith about the Prophet (peace be upon him) eating from the Jewish woman's sheep. The verse does not prohibit the food of the People of the Book; rather, Surah Al-Ma'idah itself permits their food in His saying, the Almighty: "This day [all] good foods have been made lawful for you. And the food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them."
