How can a Muslim attain God's pleasure and love and instill certainty in Him within the heart?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

One seeks Allah's pleasure by performing acts of obedience and avoiding prohibitions, by frequently reciting the Qur'an and engaging in the remembrance of Allah, especially through supererogatory prayers, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than what I have enjoined upon him, and My servant continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory deeds until I love him." Allah's pleasure is also attained by following the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, outwardly and inwardly, as Allah Almighty says: "Say, [O Muhammad], 'If you should love Allah, then follow me; Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.'"
