What is the ruling on shaving the pubic hair and armpit hair if one spouse requests the other to leave the hair in these areas, provided there is complete cleanliness, and must the wife obey her husband in this even if it contradicts the application of the Sunnah?

The Sunnah is to remove pubic hair and armpit hair, and to trim nails every Friday if they become long. It is recommended to trim nails on Thursday. It is permissible to leave them for up to forty days, and it is disliked to leave them for longer than that. It is forbidden to leave them if they prevent purity (tahara) or cause harm. In such cases, obedience to the husband in leaving them is not obligatory. As for obeying him in leaving them if they have not exceeded forty days, and do not prevent purity or cause harm, it appears permissible if there is a benefit in obeying him.
