What is the ruling on saying: "O Allah, O Lord, give me, O Lord of the Generous Servant, who, if asked, gives, and I say to You, O Allah, give me," or "For Your Generous Face, give me," or "O Lord, pardon when You have the power, and You are the Powerful, pardon me," or "O Lord, my sin has harmed me, and far be it from You to be harmed by it, O Lord, pardon me"?

There is no harm in asking Allah with phrases like: "You are most deserving of generosity, so be generous to us," and "You are most deserving of forgiveness, so forgive us," and "Our sins do not harm You, so overlook them." Scholars have also approved of Al-Hajjaj Al-Thaqafi's statement upon his death: "And You, O my Creator, are most deserving of this generosity; I have grown old in slavery, so free me from the Fire."

As for asking for benefits of the Hereafter by the Face of Allah, it is permissible. However, nothing should be asked by the Face of Allah except Paradise, because interceding with the Magnificent for a trivial matter is considered debasement of Him, and Paradise is the greatest desire for humanity.
