Does the feeling of humility and delight in the Quran and prayer experienced by the supplicant and those sitting beside him have a basis [in Islamic tradition]? And is the departure of this feeling after mingling with people and excessive jesting due to the whispers and manipulation of Satan?

Seeking knowledge and reciting the Quran for the sake of Allah inherits humility and makes His words effective in guiding people, while being wary of Satan's whispers which might lead to arrogance and pretense. The seeker of knowledge should know that success is from Allah's grace, and that a decrease in spiritual fervor when associating with people is expected, as happened with Hanzalah al-Usayyidi. The important thing is that this decrease in fervor does not lead to abandoning obligations or committing prohibitions. It is recommended to minimize associating with people except for seeking knowledge or rectifying one's condition.
