Is it permissible for a woman to wear trousers if they are wide and she wears over them a tunic that covers the knees? And is there any legal evidence or action from the female companions that supports this, especially since Allah Almighty commanded the lowering of jilbabs?

The conditions for a woman's clothing when she goes out or is seen by non-mahrams are that it must be concealing, thick, not transparent, and loose, not tight. It should not be a garment of fame or an adornment in itself, and it should not be perfumed or scented. It is also a condition that it should not resemble the clothing of prostitutes or unbelievers. If these conditions are met in any garment, it is permissible for a woman to wear it. As for what was mentioned about the requirement of wearing a shirt over trousers extending to the knees, we do not know who said it or its basis. The female Companions (Sahabiyat) did not wear trousers; rather, they wore what completely covered them, and that is what is required of all Muslim women. The consideration is the form of the garment, its concealment, and the fulfillment of the legal Islamic controls within it, not the labels.
