What is the ruling on music videos and what are their effects?

A music video program includes singing, music, and images of scantily-clothed and naked female singers. This is a reprehensible act, for singing is forbidden by the Qur'an and Sunnah. Watching these things causes a turning away from the path of Allah and negatively impacts the heart, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, when a servant commits a sin, a black spot is

marked on his heart," which is the "Raan" (stain) mentioned in the Qur'an. Moreover, habitually watching naked images removes ghīrah (protective jealousy) from the heart, and this is the cuckoldry (dayyūthah) for which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned that its practitioner would not enter Paradise.
