What is the ruling on the wife's family refusing her departure with her husband, despite the marriage contract having been concluded, and what should the husband do in this situation?

If the شرعي (Sharia-compliant) marriage contract for the girl is concluded, she legally becomes a wife. Her obedience to her parents takes precedence over her obedience to you before consummation. Consummation should be expedited to resolve any problems. Do not insist on her going out with you if it will cause problems. If the wife’s father threatens to divorce her mother upon the completion of the marriage, nothing results from this unless the threat is carried out.
