Does a vision occur in accordance with its interpretation, and does what a person's vision is interpreted to mean happen to him, even if the interpretation is wrong and frightening?
The Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "A dream is on the wing of a bird as long as it is not interpreted; when it is interpreted, it befalls," does not include those who are not skilled in interpreting dreams and make mistakes therein. Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar clarified that Al-Bukhari indicated that this is specific to when the interpreter is correct in his interpretation, citing the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying to Abu Bakr: "You were correct in some parts and mistaken in some parts." So, there is no need for worry or sadness.
