Are angels and messengers creators with Allah, and is Jesus, peace be upon him, from the Spirit of Allah?

"Creation (al-khalq)" is used to denote bringing something into existence from non-existence, and this is exclusive to Allah Almighty, for there is no creator except Allah. It may also be used to mean making or fashioning, and from this is the saying of Jesus, peace be upon him: (أَنِّي أَخْلُقُ لَكُمْ مِنَ الطِّينِ كَهَيْئَةِ الطَّيْرِ) "that I fashion for you from clay the shape of a bird," meaning I fashion and make for you. The shaping was from Jesus, and the creation was from Allah by His permission.

As for Allah Almighty's statement about Jesus that he is a "spirit from Him," it does not mean that he is a part of Allah. Rather, its meaning is that his creation originated from Allah, and this is for honor and distinction, because all creation and blessings are from Allah. Hence, "from" here is not for partiality, but rather for the beginning of a cause, as in His Almighty saying: (وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمْ مَّا فِي السماوات وَمَا فِي الأرض جَمِيعًا مِّنْهُ) "And He has subjected to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth – all from Him," meaning that the origin of all that is from Him, glory be to Him.
