If a pregnant woman aborts her fetus by her own action, then if she drank medicine that led to its dead expulsion, she is liable for a "ghurrah," which is one-tenth of the mother's blood money. However, if she expelled it alive and it had reached six months or more, and it died after the expulsion, and her action customarily causes such expulsion, then she is liable for the full blood money and expiation (freeing a slave or fasting for two consecutive months). But if her action does not customarily cause expulsion, then there is nothing upon her.
