Is the story true that Sarah pierced Hagar's ear when she swore to cut off a limb from Hagar, so she pierced her ear?

This story has not been authenticated or weakened by anyone. It was narrated by Al-Waqidi, Al-Bayhaqi, and Ibn Asakir, and mentioned by many scholars. The story states that Sarah became jealous of Hagar after she gave birth to Ishmael for Abraham, and swore to change three honorable things from her. Abraham advised her to pierce her ears and shorten her, and that was the first instance of shortening (or female circumcision). Ibn Hajar mentioned the story using a weak form of narration.
