Are the thobe and izar, or the shalwar and qameez (Afghan dress), from the clothing of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, or are they traditions? And is it better to wear them instead of Western clothes?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, wore a qamees (tunic), rida' (upper garment), izar (lower garment), and sirwal (trousers), but he did not wear the Pakistani qamees. Adhering to Arab attire is considered better than Western attire and protects the Ummah from imitation. Clothing, in general, falls under customs, and there is no harm in following the attire of a country, provided it does not include anything forbidden, such as silk for men, or if it is tight or transparent, revealing the 'awrah (private parts), or specific to disbelievers, or a garment of fame (libas shuhra), based on the Prophet's, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Whoever wears a garment of fame, Allah will clothe him on the Day of Resurrection with a garment like it, then fire will be kindled in it," and his saying: "Whoever wears a garment of fame, Allah will clothe him on the Day of Resurrection with a garment of humiliation."
