What is a cancer patient for whom doctors have given up hope of recovery and whose condition is deteriorating advised to do in his final days?

The sick person should improve their character and avoid disputes. They should remember that this is their last time in the abode of deeds, so they should conclude it with good, seek forgiveness from those they have dealt with, and satisfy them. They should continuously recite the Quran, engage in dhikr (remembrance of Allah), and read stories of the righteous. They should maintain their prayers and not accept the words of anyone who discourages them from doing so. They should advise their family to be patient with them, to refrain from wailing, excessive crying, and innovations in funerals, and to commit to supplicating for them.
