What is the supplication to be recited when burying the deceased?
It is recommended for the one who places the deceased in their grave to say: "In the name of Allah, and according to the creed of the Messenger of Allah." It is also permissible to utter a dhikr (remembrance) or a supplication appropriate for the situation, such as saying: "O Allah, protect her from Satan and from the torment of the grave. O Allah, keep the earth away from her sides, elevate her soul, and grant her Your pleasure." It is also recommended to stand and supplicate for the deceased after burial, asking for steadfastness for them, such as saying: "Seek forgiveness for your brother and ask for steadfastness for him, for he is now being questioned," or "O Allah, our companion has descended to You, leaving the world behind him. O Allah, strengthen his words during the questioning, and do not test him in his grave with what he cannot bear."
