Is it permissible for a woman to go with her friends to restaurants and homes and engage in recreational activities with her husband's permission but without his presence?

The Islamic Sharia dictates that the Muslim woman should remain in her home, observe modesty by avoiding mixing with non-mahram men, and be keen on veiling and preserving herself. This is for the safety of hearts from corruption, in fulfillment of the Almighty's saying: (And stay in your houses, and do not display yourselves like that of the former times of ignorance) Al-Ahzab/33.

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and Imam Ibn al-Qayyim both emphasized that the mixing of men and women is a cause for temptation and an increase in immorality. Therefore, it is not permissible for a woman to go to a place where she mixes with men, even if it is with her husband's permission; rather, the husband must prevent her. However, if the places are exclusive to women, with no mixing or exposure to men, and temptation is assuredly absent, then it is permissible for her to go with her husband's permission, although such a scenario is rarely found.
