It is preferable for the spouses to remain together and live amicably as much as possible, especially if there are children.
It is advised to communicate with the husband, strive to reform him, and seek assistance from relatives or religious scholars.
If that does not help, then the wife should weigh the harm of divorce against the harm of remaining in that situation and choose the lesser of the two harms.
