What is the ruling on a man's ill-treatment of his wife and daughter, and his refusal to financially support them despite his financial ability?

A husband's failure to spend on his family and his miserliness towards them regarding what is obligatory is a form of bad companionship, and it contradicts the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "The most complete of believers in faith are those with the best character, and the best of you are those who are best to their wives." He must fear Allah and fulfill his family's rights regarding spending and good companionship; otherwise, he is in disobedience.
