How can one believe in two contradictory books regarding issues of salvation, atonement, and Paradise, and does the Muslims’ rejection today of some of these teachings make them go far astray? And what is the Muslims’ aim in rejecting the reality of Christ’s death, especially since the Qur’an alluded to his demise?

Allah the Almighty commanded Muslims to believe in the Quran and in what was revealed to the Messengers. Allah the Almighty says: "Say, 'We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and al-Asbat [the Tribes] and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [submitting] to Him.'" The Quran supersedes previous scriptures, and Allah has guaranteed its preservation from distortion, whereas some other scriptures have been subjected to distortion. If anything in the Torah or the Gospel contradicts the Quran, then it is obligatory to follow the Quran. What is sound and free from distortion in previous scriptures is considered abrogated by what is in the Quran. Allah the Almighty says: "And We have sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Book with the truth, confirming what was before it of the Scripture and a guardian over it." As for differences resulting from distortion, such as the story of the crucifixion of Jesus, atonement, and redemption, they are rejected and attributed to their proponents.
