What is the ruling of Islamic law concerning the response to one who says: "The era of prophets and companions has passed" when presented with evidence from the actions of the Prophet or his companions, despite knowing the saying of Almighty Allah: ﴿There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern﴾?

Rejecting the Sunnah on the pretext that the era of prophethood has ended is an error made by an ignorant person who should be taught with patience and gentleness, without harshness or excommunication. Allah Almighty sent His Prophet as a teacher, as He said: "It is He who sent among the unlettered ones a Messenger from themselves reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom - although they were before in clear error." And scholars must teach the ignorant to distinguish truth from falsehood.
