Is it permissible for my mother, who is afflicted with obsessive-compulsive witchcraft regarding cleanliness, which prevents her from performing ablution and abandoning prayer, and who is illiterate, to perform tayammum?

The mother must fear Allah and repent to Him, for abandoning prayer is one of the greatest sins. She must perform ablution (wudu') and pray despite the difficulty, and strive against obsessive thoughts by consulting doctors and seeking advice. It is not permissible for her to perform tayammum (dry ablution) as long as she is able to perform wudu'. She should suffice with one ablution without exceeding three washes for each limb, and she should pray despite the devil's whisperings that her ablution is invalid. Her prayer is acceptable because she has done what she was commanded to do, which is to resist obsessive thoughts.
