What is the ruling on a Muslim woman marrying a Christian man if she denies its impermissibility, or if she acknowledges it but finds it impossible to leave him?

Scholars are unanimous regarding the prohibition of a Muslim woman marrying a disbeliever, based on the Almighty’s saying: "And do not marry [Muslim women] to polytheists until they believe." This marriage is null and void.

If the woman was aware of the prohibition and proceeded with it, rejecting the ruling, then she has apostatized. If she did so without rejection, she is disobedient and has committed a major sin. However, if she was ignorant, there is no sin upon her, and her marriage is a marriage of doubt (nikah shubhah).

In all cases, she must immediately sever ties with this man and repent to Allah if she was aware of the prohibition.
