What is the meaning of the word "رفضه" (abandoned him/shunned him) in the Hadith, "The Prophet of God, Ayyub, remained in his affliction for thirteen years, and he was abandoned by close relatives and distant acquaintances, save for two men from among his closest companions," and how can we reconcile this with the infallibility of the prophets from repulsive diseases?

The aforementioned hadith is authentic, narrated by Ibn Hibban, Al-Hakim, and Abu Ya'la, and authenticated by Al-Albani. Al-Dhahabi mentioned that it meets the conditions of the two Sheikhs (Al-Bukhari and Muslim). Its wording states that Ayyub's affliction lasted for 15 years, during which close and distant relatives abandoned him, except for two brothers. One of them thought that Ayyub had committed a great sin due to the prolonged nature of his affliction. Ayyub denied this, mentioning that he used to atone for those in dispute out of dislike for Allah's name to be mentioned except rightfully. Then, Allah commanded him to strike the ground with his foot, so he bathed and drank, and the affliction left him, and he returned to a better state than he was. Ayyub had two threshing floors for wheat and barley, and Allah sent down gold and silver into them. The hadith did not mention a repulsive illness; rather, it mentioned the long duration of the affliction and people's rejection of him, which is customary for people during affliction or poverty. What befell Ayyub was not of the repulsive nature depicted by storytellers and narrators.
