What were the tribulations that befell Allah's prophets Musa, Isa, Dawud, and Sulayman (peace be upon them)?

The people most afflicted with trials are the prophets, then the righteous, in descending order of their virtue. It is narrated in the Hadith: "Indeed, the people most severely tried are the prophets, then those who come next to them, then those who come next to them." This is due to what they endure from their people and the intensity of their calling, which increases their ranks and rewards.

Allah mentioned the stories of the prophets in the Qur'an for us to learn lessons. Moses, peace be upon him, suffered from his birth, from Pharaoh, and from the Children of Israel. Jesus, peace be upon him, was tried by the Jews slandering his mother and attempting to kill him. Both were among the most severely tried people. Thus, a Muslim finds solace in their stories when afflicted with harm in the way of Allah.

Trials are not limited to illness or poverty; rather, they encompass all types of afflictions, both good and bad, such as wars, tribulations, assuming responsibilities, and the spread of innovations and desires. Allah says: ﴿And We test you with evil and with good as a trial.﴾
