What is the authenticity of the hadith: "The fewest inhabitants of Paradise will be women"?

This hadith was narrated by Muslim from 'Imran ibn Al-Husayn, and Al-Manawi explained it by saying that the scarcity of women in Paradise is at the beginning, before disobedient women emerge from Hellfire. Therefore, the hadith does not indicate that the women of this world will be fewer than men in Paradise. Some researchers are of the opinion that the scarcity may be in consideration of their individual selves for those who enter Paradise early, or in consideration of their residence in it after remaining for a long time in Hellfire, where their period of residence will be short compared to those who preceded them, because residence in Paradise is endless and cannot be described as scarce or abundant.
