What is the criterion that must be adhered to in order to obtain a permissible job in the West, given the doubts and problems surrounding many professions, such as: 1. Working in a vegetable selling company with the possibility of assisting in forbidden matters or selling products to restaurants that use them in forbidden ways? 2. Teaching in non-Islamic schools and the resulting Sharia violations, such as attending polytheistic holiday celebrations? 3. Working in a company that sells honey with the possibility of it being used in forbidden ways? And is helping others use a computer or fix a printer considered a sin if they use them in ways that violate Sharia? And how can I reconcile the need for work with avoiding falling into doubts and forbidden acts, especially since repeatedly leaving jobs affects one's employment record?
There is no harm in you remaining in the West if you possess sufficient knowledge and faith to keep you steadfast in your religion, and if the systems there do not prevent you from observing your religious rituals. Otherwise, emigration becomes obligatory when it is facilitated. Working in selling honey or repairing printers for a company that sells vegetables is permissible, and the possibility of their use in unlawful activities does not cause harm. Sharia considers the state of necessity, so whoever finds no other work to meet their needs besides such jobs is permitted to do so, based on the Almighty’s saying: "And He has already explained to you in detail what He has forbidden you, except for that to which you are compelled," and His saying: "So fear Allah as much as you are able," and the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: "When I command you to do something, do of it as much as you are able." Earning a livelihood from doubtful sources is preferable to asking people for charity.
