The answer

The Shari'a did not prescribe a specific prayer for the removal of affliction. Rather, it legislated the permissibility of performing Qunoot in the five daily prayers during calamities and epidemics. It is also legislated for people, during times of affliction, to renew their repentance and turn back to Allah Almighty; for indeed, affliction does not descend except due to a sin, and it is not removed except through repentance, as stated by Al-Abbas, Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz, and Ibn al-Qayyim, citing the Almighty's saying: {Then We seized them with poverty and adversity that perhaps they might humble themselves} and {Then why did they not humble themselves when Our adversity came to them?}. Sins indeed remove blessings and bring about misfortunes. It is therefore obligatory for people to repent by abandoning sins and observing acts of obedience so that the affliction may be removed.
