Shall we see the prophets and messengers in Paradise?
The believer who is obedient to Allah and His Messenger will see the Prophets in Paradise, but will not share their ranks.
It is stated in Tafsir Ibn Kathir: "{And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger - those will be with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favor of the Prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions.}" So, whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, Allah will cause him to dwell in His abode of honor and make him a companion of the Prophets, then the truthful, then the martyrs, then the righteous.
Al-Baghawi mentioned that the verse was revealed concerning Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) when he feared that he would not see the Prophet (peace be upon him) in the Hereafter, because the Prophets are raised to higher ranks. Thus, the meaning of "being with" is not missing the sight of the Prophets and sitting with them, not that they are raised to the rank of the Prophets.
Al-Qurtubi adds that they will be with them in one abode and one delight, and they will enjoy seeing them and being in their presence, but they will not be equal to them in rank. Rather, they will differ in ranks and visit each other.
Therefore, a believer should strive to obey Allah and avoid His prohibitions, and increase in righteous deeds to attain the highest ranks in Paradise.
