Who is Taqi al-Din al-Nabhani, and is he a mujtahid from whom it is permissible to take fatwas? And who is Abu Iyass, and what is your opinion of both of them?

Taqi al-Din al-Nabhani is the founder of Hizb ut-Tahrir. He was born in Palestine in 1909, studied at Al-Azhar, and worked as a judge and teacher. He then settled in Beirut and established the party in 1952. Al-Nabhani leaned towards the old rationalist school (the Mu'tazila) and praised their imams. His party prohibited belief in the torment and bliss of the grave and the appearance of the Antichrist (al-Masih al-Dajjal). He passed away in Beirut in 1979. He was not upon the methodology of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah, therefore, no fatwa should be taken from him. As for Abu Iyas, his identity needs to be determined by stating his full name.
