Is it permissible to marry an Iranian man who does not pray but promised to commit to it, and who only fasted when he was young, and then was asked to fast and promised to try?

Do not accept marriage to someone who does not pray or fast, unless he repents sincerely and shows signs of uprightness. This is because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, guided us to choose a husband who possesses good character and religious commitment, saying: "If there comes to you one whose character and religious commitment you approve, then marry him. If you do not do so, there will be tribulation on earth and widespread corruption." Abandoning prayer out of denial expels one from the faith, and abandoning it out of laziness is considered disbelief by some scholars. And whoever neglects prayer is even more neglectful of other matters.
