The answer

Everyone who dies as a Muslim, a monotheist believing in Allah the Almighty, will ultimately enter Paradise, either immediately or after being punished in Hellfire for their sins, such as a wine-drinker, from which they will then exit. These are the disobedient monotheists or those who committed major sins. Only disbelievers will abide eternally in Hellfire.

It is not possible to definitively state that a specific person among the disobedient monotheists will enter Hellfire, for there are many reasons that may avert punishment and save the perpetrator of a major sin from Hellfire, including: repentance, asking Allah for forgiveness, good deeds that expiate sins, worldly afflictions, the supplication of believers for them, and Allah the Almighty's forgiveness of them from the outset, based on His saying: (Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills.) An-Nisa/48.

If all these reasons are absent and Allah does not will to forgive him, he will enter Hellfire to be purified and then exit to Paradise. However, a servant should not be deluded by this and dare to commit disobedience, for Allah's punishment is severe, and who can guarantee that the audacious sinner will remain steadfast in monotheism?
