Is it possible that a person who drinks alcohol, has stopped praying, but used to do good deeds and was loved by people, will not enter Hell?

Drinking alcohol is one of the major sins. As for one who dies persistent in it and has not repented, his matter is with Allah; if He wills, He will punish him, and if He wills, He will forgive him. As for abandoning prayer, some scholars consider the one who abandons it to be an infidel, and they believe that he will abide eternally in Hellfire. The majority of scholars, however, believe that he is disobedient and immoral, and his matter is with Allah; if He wills, He will punish him, and if He wills, He will forgive him.
