What is the ruling on closing the school's mosque during the study period for fear of female students escaping?
It is permissible to close mosques outside of prayer times for a valid reason. If the reason for closing the school mosque is that female students are escaping from their studies and staying there, it can be closed immediately after prayer, or other measures can be taken, such as deducting grades. However, closing the mosque and preventing female students and teachers from praying in it, which leads to delaying the prayer or missing its time entirely, is forbidden. Allah Almighty said: "Guard strictly (all) the prayers," and "Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a time-constrained ordinance." Moreover, closing a mosque which results in delaying or missing prayers is an act of injustice and an endeavor to ruin the houses of Allah, as Allah Almighty said: "And who is more unjust than one who prevents the mosques of Allah from having His name mentioned therein and strives toward their ruin?"
