A husband is not permitted to dispose of his wife's property without her permission and consent. Otherwise, his action is void or contingent upon the owner's ratification. Divorce is one of Allah's prescribed limits, to be used only when marital life has become corrupted and its rectification impossible. It is incumbent upon the wife to advise her husband kindly, while observing his rights, and to explain the prohibition of dealing with sorcerers, and to demonstrate wisdom to avoid discord.
