What are the limits of interaction between a nurse and patients (especially women)?

The nurse must adhere to the Islamic legal guidelines when dealing with the patient, such as not looking at or touching the 'awrah (private parts) except out of necessity, displaying good character, and performing the work to the fullest. As for a male nurse dealing with female patients, the principle is that men should nurse men and women should nurse women. If a male nurse is compelled to deal with female patients, he must lower his gaze and avoid being alone with them or touching them, except out of a compelling necessity or dire need, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "Say to the believing men that they cast down their glances and guard their private parts; that is purer for them. Surely Allah is aware of what they do" (Quran 24:30), and the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "I have not left behind me any trial more harmful to men than women," and "No man is alone with a woman but the third of them is Satan, except if she is accompanied by a mahram."
