If the use of bran and straw does not assist those who produce alcohol, then there is no objection to taking and using it as animal feed or for other permissible matters, as it is neither impure nor forbidden. However, if it is mixed with harmful or impure substances, or if taking it aids in the production of alcohol, then it is not permissible to take it, due to the Almighty's saying: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression," and because it involves feeding animals impure substances, which may render them "jalalah" (animals fed on filth).
