Does the noble verse, "And thus did We show Abraham the dominion of the heavens and the earth that he might be among those of assured certainty," indicate that Abraham saw God's dominion and majesty, or that he saw a planet with the naked eye? And what planet can be seen with the naked eye besides the sun, moon, and some stars? And was science at that time advanced, then it regressed, as is claimed, especially since the mention of planets was repeated in the story of Joseph without Jacob's astonishment?

Allah Almighty showed Abraham the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and He showed him His signs therein, so that the seven heavens and the seven earths were revealed to him, in order that he might be among those who are certain of Allah's Oneness, Lordship, Power, and Prophethood. As for Abraham's sighting of the star, that is another story. In the Arabic language, the word "kawkab" (star/planet) refers to any luminous celestial body. His sighting of it does not indicate the existence of scientific advancement. Some interpreted it as Venus or other planets visible to the naked eye, similar to the stars/planets that Joseph, peace be upon him, saw. None of this indicates that they were planets in the sense known today, which cannot be seen with the naked eye, and no interpreter has ever claimed this.
