How to pray the night vigil (Salat al-Layl) precisely with one's wife?

If a woman prays behind her husband, she should stand behind him, following the example of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Praying Qiyam al-Layl (night prayer) in congregation is permissible as long as it does not become a regular Sunnah (established practice). It is recommended to begin the night prayer with two short rak'ahs and to recite aloud. The cooperation of spouses in performing Qiyam al-Layl has great merit.
